It’s your Friday edition of fun – courtesy of Elmwood Village Association’s 20 Block Bash on Saturday, their lineup of local bands, and the top six instagrammers in WNY this week.

NEWS: We’re hosting our first Instameet. #BUFstameet, if you will. October 3rd, 11AM, Forest Lawn Cemetery. Meet dozens of other local photographers at the Main and Delevan gate before we go exploring the changing leaves, ridiculously wealthy dead people’s tombs, and look out for ghosts. Wahoo!Last year, we accidentally stumbled upon the 20 Block Bash that had closed down the street and thought it was one of the best things we’d seen all fall. I’ll let Angela of Elmwood Village Association take it away and tell you more!

The 20 Block Bash is a neighborhood wide block party taking place on Elmwood Ave between W. Utica St. and Hodge Ave. from 5:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m on Sept 19th. Event proceeds benefit the Elmwood Village Association and flow directly back into the community in the form of beautification and infrastructure improvement, community outreach and events, and economic development activities. The event will feature five local music acts – Slyboots School of Music, DJ Milk, Pine Fever, the Sleepy Hahas and RADARADA; plus street games including a cornhole tournament, putt-putt, The Crazy Balloon Lady of WNY, a fire spinner and professional chalk artists.

Food will be sold by local Elmwood Avenue vendors.

We’re using SoundCloud this week to hook you up with music from each of the bands that will be playing Saturday evening. This playlist is one of our BEST (Because it’s 100% BUFFALO!)

THOUGHTS: This Blog Party is missing one thing – YOU! Do you want over 4,000 people to learn about your small business, or about your upcoming event? We want you to DJ Feature Friday! Hit us up, risecollaborative@gmail.com.
