Hey there! Right now you’re either reading this because it’s habitually what you do, first thing when you get outta bed on Friday, or you’re at your desk at the office, not doing work because discovering a new small business, a new playlist, and new local instagrammers is much better for your soul than work. Either reason is a fantastic reason.

We’re hoping you picked up your issue of The Public this week. On the last page, you’ll see us and this weekly photo project! Keep slapping #RiseBFLO on your shots, and you could be seeing your own photography there as well. Get out there, do something weird and fun with your friends, and share some photos of it.

Speaking of discovering a new local business – Let’s go do what everyone seems to do come fall, and take a trip out to the ‘burbs. East Aurora. A walkable community 40 minutes outside of the city, East Aurora always had a quaint, small town Americana charm. Now young people like ourselves are headed out there, opening up shops, converting old buildings into livable studios, and cultivating a new wave of artistic culture all their own. Let’s hear from your DJ for the next ten songs, Vanessa Frost, owner of MUSEjar (@MUSEjar).

MUSEjar is an open air shop filled with unique art supplies and hand crafted goods. With a working art studio on site, we offer a variety of classes for kids and adults.
What’s even better, we love to throw a party! From Kids birthday parties to wedding showers and happy hours, we love to host and inspire!

We love local collaborations and most recently we’ve started Farm to Table Art Nights at Arden Farm. Each evening is a different theme with a new art project. The night includes wine tastings, appetizers, live music, and of course an art project. Our last Spanish Infused evening was a total success! We made custom Spanish Tiles, listened to the Spanish guitar, ate Paella and drank Cava.

Stop in to experience the smells of the paint, the feel of the new brushes, and the rows of markers and pencils; there may even be an artist at work in the studio! There is nothing more inspiring than being surrounded by art.
